2022-23 WCAS TEAM TRYOUT REGISTRATION

World Class All Star Dance (WCAS) is the St. Louis region’s first all star dance gym exclusively dedicated to nurturing stellar dance team development with a highly experienced dance, tumbling, and performance training staff. By focusing on developing key skills and technique from a young age, WCAS gives dancers the tools they need to successfully audition for high school and college dance teams. Beyond developing the physical technique, WCAS cultivates a strong team connection so that dancers can learn to work closely together, trust one another, and support every team member’s contribution – all vital to a successful dance team experience.
World Class All Star Dance (WCAS) is the St. Louis region’s first all star dance gym exclusively dedicated to inspiring, cultivating, and training dancers of all ages. We focus on smart dance instruction by treating dancers as the athletes they are – developing strong technique, proper conditioning, and a strong connection among all our dancers, nurtured by our highly experienced dance, tumbling, and performance training staff. Our new 5200 sq. ft. dance gym in the Chesterfield Valley features the only full-size dance team competition floor in Missouri with the highest possible safety ratings to support and protect growing dancers.
WCAS classes are open to all, and we offer a full slate of dance instruction for ages 3-18 including Intro to Dance, Barre (Ballet), Stretch/Leaps/Turns, Conditioning, and Acro for Dancers. Whether you’re a new dancer just starting your dance journey, a middle or high school student preparing for school dance team tryouts, or a high school dancer with the goal of dancing on a nationally competitive college dance team, WCAS has the training and expertise to help you reach your goals.
Our Focus
Strength Training & Conditioning
Today’s competitive dance team routines are more athletic and demanding than ever, and dancers must be properly and safely trained to help avoid injury and dance at their best. WCAS Strength & Conditioning Director Dr. Michael Vishion is 25+ year veteran chiropractic physician and former multi-sport athlete with extensive experience helping athletes recover faster and more thoroughly from injuries, as well as helping healthy athletes increase their performance capabilities. Dr. Vishion has special expertise helping dancers perform to the best of their abilities and improve all aspects of their dancing.
Commitment to Stellar Technique
Proper technique is a top priority for all dancers, but especially for those on a school or all-star team, where perfect technique and perfect precision must come together for success. WCAS is thrilled to have talented & experienced dancers – former Lafayette Escadrille, University of Iowa & Lindenwood Lion Line member/current Lafayette Escadrille varsity assistant coach Montana Krieger, former Eureka Golden Line/current Lafayette Escadrille JV coach Kaitlyn Puyear, former Ursuline Academy/current Lion Line captain Cara Westcott, former Seckman Dance Team/current Lion Line captain Sydney Penrod, – providing choreography as well as technique and precision training.
Individual Development & Team Building
The best teams are the closest teams – the one that experience those magical seasons when everything comes together, dancers improve beyond their wildest expectations, and cherished memories with teammates and friends are made. Those teams don’t happen by accident – they must be grown and nurtured with great care to ensure they reach, and even exceed, team and individual goals. WCAS Head Coach Mistie Thompson has more than 30 years of experience from all sides of the dance team world – high school & college dancer, UDA staff member/head instructor, National Dance Team Championship judge, choreographer, coach, and parent – and specializes in inspiring dancers to perform beyond their expectations and create lifelong bonds with team members.
